My plans to retrace Captain Cook's unfinished voyage have been postponed a year while I work on the next Marine Diesel Basics book and get my new boat SV Oceandrifter ready for sea.
At 39 feet, “Moon River” may not be strictly a Tahitiana, which are 32-feet in length. According to the information “Moon River” is a “Tahiti Tahitiana type”. However, take a look at the photos and you’ll see she’s a fine gaff-rigged double-ender sailboat and looks very much like a Tahitiana. Those extra 7 feet may not sound like much, but as that additional length comes in the middle (not the pointy ends) it makes literally an enormous difference to the space below deck.
“Moon River” is currently sailing to the Bahamas. She is also for sale for US$39,000.
